Police departments and state and federal law enforcement agencies frequently have car auctions. Many of the vehicles being sold are seized cars. In other words, the law enforcement agency has taken this car from a criminal and now they are selling it to the public. This helps fund the law enforcement agency, plus it give the public a chance to buy cars that they could not otherwise afford at a cheap price.

These seized car auctions are not a well known thing. Even though the law enforcement agencies do advertise them, not many ever hear about them. They may run an ad in the newspaper, but how many people read the ads.

With the lack of exposure to these car auction it is the perfect place to get a great cheap car.

When you go to a car auction you need to be prepared. Get a list of the cars being sold at this auction and pick out all of the cars you may want to bid on. Then research these cars. Find the market value and decided what you are willing to bid on the cars. Set your maximum bid price before you ever start to bid and do not go over that price.

Like any auction bidder will get into bidding wars on occasion, so don’t be pulled into one. Set your price and buy your cars cheap.

If you do not know much about cars, it may be a good idea to bring along a friend that does and have them look over the cars before you start bidding. Most cars at these auctions are in good condition, but it is always better safe than sorry. These cars are sold as is and once you pay for your car you will not get a refund.

So get a list of cars, do your research and look the cars over good before bidding. Set your maximum bid amounts and pay a low price for your car.
